Located in Central Anatolia Region on the foothills of Erciyes Mountain, Kayseri was established on the Historical Silk Road. Having its roots dating back to 4000 B.C., it's possible to witness the traces of different civilizations in the city.

Places to Visit in Kayseri

Eryises Mountain and Ski Centers are the first places to be recommended when it comes to places to visit in Kayseri. Attracting many local and international tourists, ski center is considered to be the most important touristic place of Kayseri. The only state university of Kayseri also gets its name from this mountain.

Being an extinct volcano, Erciyes is 3,196 meters high and is also the highest mountain of Central Anatolia. Erciyes Mountain which has a suitable environment for ski and outdoor sports hosts many visitors from all around the world during the winter term.

One of the first mental institutions of Turkish history Gevher Nesibe Health Center (Medicine Museum) was named after the daughter of Kılıç Aslan, Gevher Nesibe Hatun. This 800 years old health center was constructed according to the will of Gevher Nesibe Hatun.

Ruins of Soğanlı resemble the chimney rock formations in Ürgüp and Göreme. Being a hiding place for Christians in 4th century, it's still possible to see frescos of that period and small chapels in Soğanlı.

Kapuzbaşı Falls has a reputation as the 2nd highest waterfall of the world. Ideal for those who want to spend some peaceful time in the nature, this waterfall is also attracting foreigners.
