Phuket International Airport is an international airport located in the island of Phuket and the city of the same name, located in the south of Thailand.
The airport is located in the north of the island, 32 km from the city center of Phuket. Phuket International Airport plays an important role in Thailand's tourism industry, as the famous Phuket Island is a frequent destination for vacationers. After the two airports in the capital, Bangkok, Phuket Airport is Thailand's third busiest airport. Phuket Airport broke a record with 11.3 million inbound and outbound passengers in 2013.
