About Air Astana
Kazakhstan's airline company, Air Astana, was founded in 2001 and made its first flight from Almaty, Kazakhstan, to the capital Nur-Sultan in May 2002. The airline, which uses Almaty and Nur-Sultan airports as its flight hub, flies to more than 60 domestic and international destinations. Air Astana has direct flights to the cities of Öskemen, Aktobe, Uralsk, Atrau, Aktau, Kızılorda and Shymkent, departing from Almaty and Nur-Sultan in Kazakhstan.
Air Astana operates its flights from Istanbul Airport in Turkey. In the summer season, it also flies from Antalya and Bodrum to Nur-Sultan and Almaty.
Air Astana Check-In Procedures and Seat Selection
Online check-in at Air Astana is made via the internet at the earliest 24 hours before the scheduled flight time and until the last 60 minutes. After the online check-in process by entering the ticket number or PNR number, if the passengers do not have baggage, they can go directly to the gate where the flight will take place. Passengers who will deliver their luggage must deliver their luggage to the counter until the last 60 minutes of the flight.
Passengers who will check-in at the counter and deliver their luggage start 2 hours before the flight time for domestic flights and 3 hours before the flight time for international flights. The transaction must be completed 60 minutes before the flight. Passengers are allowed at the flight gate until the last 15 minutes. Seat selection is free during online check-in at Air Astana. Air Astana passengers earn miles on every flight with their membership in the company's frequent flyer program, Nomad Club. To become a member, you can register online via the Air Astana website. The card, which accumulates miles on all domestic and international flights of Air Astana, has 3 different levels: blue, silver and gold. Passengers who upgrade to the Elite member level (Gold card) have the right to check-in priority, additional bonus points, additional registered baggage allowance and Business Lounge regardless of the class of the flight ticket.
Air Astana Baggage Allowance and Pricing
On Air Astana flights, Business Class passengers have a baggage allowance of 2 pieces x 32 kilos, while Economy Class passengers have a baggage allowance of 2 pieces x 23 kilos. The hand luggage allowance is 8 kilos for all passengers. Economy class can carry 1 piece, business class can carry 2 pieces of hand luggage. Passengers exceeding these limits are required to purchase additional baggage allowance according to the destination they will fly to. The additional baggage allowance varies between 80 and 115 USD per piece, depending on the destination.
Air Astana Food, Beverage and Catering
Air Astana passengers can enjoy free meals and beverages throughout their flights. The food menu includes different flavors from Central Asia, Arab countries, Asia and Europe. The menu, which differs according to the flight point and flight time, also includes seasonal fruit. Business and economy passengers can enjoy hot and cold drinks, sparkling wine, champagne and special wine varieties, as well as hot and cold meals. There is also latte, espresso and cappuccino service on some long flights.
Air Astana Inflight Entertainment Service
KC TV Stream, the in-flight entertainment system that has been serving on Air Astana aircraft since November 2016 with the motto "In-flight entertainment is in the palm of your hand", is free for passengers in all cabins.
