Transportation from City Center to Samui International Airport
Unlike many other airports, Samui International Airport offers passengers a different concept with open-air areas, offering a unique sunset and sea view, instead of a classic terminal building. In addition, there are many cafes and restaurants serving Japanese, Chinese and Western cuisine in the airport. It is possible to buy many souvenirs, from skin care products to watches, duty-free at the Samui Park Avenue shopping mall located within the airport. Samui International Airport also has sufficient facilities for parking. There are two different car parks that offer short and long parking opportunities at the airport. In these car parks, there is no charge for the first half hour for both cars and motorcycles. Different alternatives are used for transportation from the city center to the airport.
Airport Shuttle
This option cannot be used for transportation to the airport due to the lack of any shuttle service offered by the airport management or local municipality. However, it is possible to use the shuttle services offered by the hotels serving in the region.
Taxi
Taxis are frequently preferred for transportation from the city center to Samui International Airport due to the lack of public transportation and shuttle services. Taxis can be found in Ko Samui city center at any time of the day and you can reach the airport within 10 minutes with these taxis. In these taxis, where no night or weekend tariffs are applied, the airport transportation fee varies between 500 and 1000 Baht, depending on the location.
Rent a car
There are many rent a car agencies serving in the city center of Ko Samui. It is possible to reach the airport by renting a car through these agencies, but this option is not preferred because the distance between the city center and the airport is only 2 km.
