Transportation from Quito City Center to Quito Airport

Although Mariscal Sucre International Airport is approximately 40 km from the city of Quito, it is quite easy to reach by using various vehicles in the city.

One of the most convenient ways to reach the airport is to take the private buses that run between the city center and the airport. These buses depart from the old airport, which is currently used as a park, and arrive at the new airport after about an hour's journey.

Buses depart every half hour on weekdays and every hour on weekends. Free internet service is available on the buses. One suitcase and one hand luggage up to 23 kg are included in the ticket price. You have to pay an additional fee for extra baggage. Tickets are available online or at the bus ticket office.

City buses to the airport depart from the Rio Coca terminal just outside the city centre. Buses operating between 05.45 in the morning and 21.30 in the evening take you to the airport in approximately 1.5 hours depending on the traffic situation.

You will not have any trouble finding a taxi, especially in the touristic center of the city. You can either turn from the street or ask the receptionist of your hotel to call a taxi for you. Taxis apply pre-determined price tariffs from the city center to the airport, and when traveling towards the airport, you pay 3-4 dollars less than the arrival schedule.

Local people prefer Combi minibuses to go to Cusco city center from the airport. Combis are waiting near the exit gate of the airport terminal and they all have their own route, so it is necessary to choose the right minibus. Although they do not have sharp hours, they get up when they are full, but it is worth paying attention to the side cutters. The Av El Sol stop is very close to the Plaza de Armas in the city centre.

In Cusco, as in other cities of Peru, taxi is the most used and the most convenient method for travelers. The box office of the official airport taxis is located at the baggage claim point. They have reliable and comfortable vehicles to take a taxi from Cusco Airport to the city.

But there are also cheaper taxis, you can negotiate with the drivers waiting outside the terminal to find them. Since there is no taximeter, it is best to confirm the price in advance. There is also Uber in Cusco, you can easily say Uber from the application and reach the city center.
