Transportation from Bodo Airport to City Center
Bodo is the capital and largest city of the Norwegian state of Nordland. It is also the second largest city in all of Norway and an important commercial center of Northern Norway. It is a good idea to dress tight as the city is famous for its winds.
Although little known to travelers, Bodo is a great starting point to start exploring the Lofoten Islands or Northern Norway because it has its own airport.
Bodo Airport is a 15-20 minute walk from the city center, but there are also bus and taxi options. The easiest way to get to the city center from Bodo Airport is to take the bus that leaves from the airport entrance. Buses 1 and 4, which depart every 10 minutes, go directly to the city center with a journey that takes only 5 minutes.
There are fewer flights on weekends, but you never have to wait long, and if the weather is very cold, it is possible to wait in the airport until the bus leaves. You can use the Billett Nordland phone application to buy bus tickets or pay with your credit card while boarding, but note that cash payments are not accepted.
In fact, walking from the airport to Bodo city center is also a pleasant experience. If you don't have a lot of luggage, the 2 km road only takes 15-20 minutes and most of the road has sidewalks. In other words, by taking a very safe walk, you both save money and see Bodo's football stadium on the way.
Apart from walking and bus options, it is possible to reach the city center in 5 minutes from Bodo Airport by taxi. Taxis waiting just outside the main entrance of the airport take passengers wherever they want, but keep in mind that taxis are very expensive in Norway. If you want to book a taxi ahead, you can call Nordland Taxi on +47 07550.
If you have a lot of luggage, it can be a good choice as you will not have to walk to your hotel in the city center. Likewise, there are offices that rent cars at Bodo Airport.
