To avoid this, you can book your taxi before you arrive. The distance between the airport and the city center is approximately 24 km and the journey takes an average of 30 minutes.
You can also consider hiring a car, as there are so many places to see in Kos. The price you will pay for a taxi for your transfer from the airport to the city center is roughly equal to the one-day rental price of a rental car in the middle segment. By renting a car from the airport, you will both avoid your airport transfer and have the chance to see the beauties of Kos with your own rhythm.
