Transportation from Quito City Center to Quito Airport
Although Mariscal Sucre International Airport is approximately 40 km from the city of Quito, it is quite easy to reach by using various vehicles in the city.
One of the most convenient ways to reach the airport is to take the private buses that run between the city center and the airport. These buses depart from the old airport, which is currently used as a park, and arrive at the new airport after about an hour's journey.
Buses depart every half hour on weekdays and every hour on weekends. Free internet service is available on the buses. One suitcase and one hand luggage up to 23 kg are included in the ticket price. Montevideo Carrasco International Airport is located in the Carrasco Neighborhood, 25 km east of the city centre. Although the airport is connected to the city center by a big four-lane road, it can take up to 1 hour to reach the center.
The most economical way to go from Montevideo Airport to the city center is by bus. You can find a 24-hour bus to the city center just outside the airport. Buses depart approximately every 15 minutes between 06.00 in the morning and 23.00 in the night, and take off every 30-40 minutes between 23.30 at night and 05.30 in the morning.
You can reach the city center by any bus labeled Montevideo from the bus stop located outside the arrivals terminal, and the fare is paid in cash upon boarding. It might be good to indicate to the driver that you will get off at Terminal Tres Cruces, Montevideo's central bus stop, because this is not the last stop of the bus. The last stop, Rio Branco Terminal, is also very close to the city center. It takes between 45 minutes and 1 hour to reach Montevideo city center from Carrasco Airport, depending on traffic.
Another popular means of reaching the city from Montevideo Airport is minibuses. If you are traveling alone, you can go to your hotel by minibus much more economically than a taxi. Taxi is the most comfortable and fastest option to reach Montevideo city center after your flight. You can find a taxi from Montevideo Airport 24/7, but the price and travel time will vary depending on traffic. Also, some taxis may charge an extra fee for luggage. Since there is a safety screen between the front and the back seat of the taxis, there is a possibility that the area you will sit in is narrow.
