Transportation from City Center to El Alto International Airport
El Alto International Airport or La Paz Airport is the main airport of the capital city of Bolivia, La Paz, and its position at an altitude of 4 thousand 61 meters makes it the highest international airport in the world.
The most economical way to reach El Alto International Airport from the city center is to take the bus number 212. This bus leaves every 15 minutes. The bus, which departs from its stop around Plaza Isabel la Católica in the Sopocachi area between 06:00 and 21:00, first passes through Avenida 16 de Julio (July 16 Boulevard) and then arrives at the airport in approximately 45 minutes, passing through San Francisco square.
