Transportation from the City Center to Corfu Airport
Corfu, or Ioannis Kapodistrias International Airport, is the only international airport on the Greek island of Corfu. The island has become an attractive tourism destination thanks to its proximity to other European countries and its magnificent natural beauties, and therefore the airport is very crowded and busy, especially in summer. Fortunately, transportation from the city center to the airport is very easy.
Bus line 15 is your only public transportation option to get to the airport. This line departs from Corfu Port, where cruise ships also dock, and arrives at Corfu Airport, passing first through San Rocco Square and then through the intercity bus terminal. If you get on from the port, the road takes an average of 4 km and takes 8-10 minutes under normal traffic conditions.
If you don't want to take the bus, your remaining options are taxi and private transfer. If you are going to use a taxi, you can take the next taxi from any stop, as Uber and similar transportation applications have not been used in the city yet.
Or your hotel can call one for you. If you are crowded and want to use a private transfer, you can book a private transfer from a reliable website or tourism agency and go to the airport comfortably from the door of your hotel.
Since Corfu Airport is only 2.5 km from Corfu city center, some tourists even walk this distance. It can be considered as a possible option if you don't have a suitcase or if it's light and the sun has softened a bit. If you have decided to walk, we recommend that you do not neglect your water, hat and sunscreen.
