Trekking to Hallasan peak, one of the most beautiful activities to do on Jeju island. On this track, which is located on lava rocks with a length of about 10 km, the ascent and descent to the summit is 20 km in total; It takes about 10 hours with breaks. However, when you reach the summit, you encounter a magnificent view and a crater lake that appears and hides through the clouds. Seongeup Folk Village, which is located at the foot of Halla Mountain, is a small town with a wide cultural background. These include residences, Confucian shrines, schools, historical government buildings, stone statues, large millstones turned by horses, and castle ruins. In addition, black lava stone walls, straight and curved streets that break the wind, stone grandfather (Harubang) statues, local black pigs and their barns reflect the characteristics of Jeju folk culture.
The Jungmun Daepo Lava Pillars, also called Jusangjeolli or Jisatgae Rocks, which are considered the cultural monuments of Jeju Island, are pillars of rock piled up along the coast formed by the lava erupting from Hallasan Mountain when it reaches the sea in the Jungmun Region. These cubes or octagon-shaped rocks look as if they were carved by stone masons, but the 20-meter-high rocky hill made this place a suitable fishing spot in case of rising sea levels. When the rising sea waves crash against the rocks, they create a magnificent ocean view with the columns surrounding it.
Cheonjeyeon Falls, which means "God's Lake", is a natural wonder consisting of three waterfalls with different plant species around it. There is also a cave on the east side where cold water pours from its ceiling and makes a waterfall. The water flowing from the first waterfall creates the second and third waterfalls and mixes with the sea. In the Cheonjeyeon Valley, there are Seonimgyo Bridge, which has 7 nymphs carved on one corner, and the octagonal Cheonjeru Tower. The Chilseonyeo Festival is held every two years in the area where the surface of Cheonjeru Tower is decorated with paintings depicting the legend of Cheonjeyeon about the fairies and mountain god.
Manjanggul Cave, one of the most beautiful lava tunnels in the world and considered a natural monument, was formed by a lava tunnel and the lava gushing from the underground to the surface, spreading down the hill and flowing to the surface. Turtle Rock, which resembles the shape of Jeju Island formed in the cave where rock columns and stalagmites are located along the tunnel, is one of the most interesting shapes. In Yeomiji Arboretum, where there are 2000 rare species of plants and 1700 species of flowers and trees, it is possible to take a tour train between the garden and the arboretum. On a cloud and fog-free day, you can even see Marado Island in the distance.
Olle trekking routes, known as Olle Gil and consisting of a total of 13 routes, provide the breathtaking beauty of Jeju Island and travel between the mountains and the coasts. Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak of the crater, whose southeast and north sides are cliffs, with a diameter of about 600 meters and 99 pointed rocks around it, is breathtakingly beautiful. About 100,000 years ago, it rose from underwater during the volcanic eruption.
Seopjikoji Beach and Koji Hill, which are natural wonders with a green area without a single tree on the east coast of the island; Jeju Haenyeo Museum, which was established to promote the culture of female divers known as Haenyeo, who are known to have dispersed to Jeju Island, Korea, Japan and Russia and who work in the fishing field; Glass Castle, a glass art theme park with an exhibition hall, an all-glass garden and models; Tedi Bear Museum, where Tedi teddy bears from different countries are exhibited; O'sulloc Tea Museum, which features products reflecting the traditional tea culture of Korea, is among the other places to visit on the island.
