Transportation from the City Center to Bogota Airport
You can use taxi or public transportation to reach El Dorado International Airport, which is 11 km from Bogota city center.
Minibuses named Buseta are quite common and economical. It is possible to reach Bogota Airport by taking the bus labeled "Aeropuerto" on Calle 19, which is very close to La Candelaria. In addition, airport buses pass through the main street named Avenida 26.
One of the alternatives used to reach the airport from the city center is the municipal buses with the line number P500. Cash payments are not accepted on these buses. The kiosks and newsstands in the city center sell tickets. However, the easiest method is to buy Tullave Card. It takes an average of 50 minutes to reach the airport with the P500 buses from the city center. This time may vary depending on the traffic situation.
Another public transportation option is Transmilenio's K10 buses. You can take this bus to the Portal El Dorado stop and reach Bogota Airport with the airport's free green bus Alimentador. Depending on the traffic, it may take 45 minutes to go from Bogota city center to Bogota Airport by bus, but it is a much more economical method than a taxi.
Also, taxis in Bogota are known to be unsafe, so it's wiser to opt for reliable apps like Uber rather than taking a taxi from the street.
Transportation from San Juan International Airport to San Juan City Center
San Juan Airport, officially known as Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU), is among the busiest airports in the Caribbean.
When you land at the airport, you can pay at the "Taxi Turistico" counters on the arrivals floor and travel to the main places of the city at fixed prices. Taxis pick up passengers arriving at Terminal A from the luggage compartment of terminal A, and passengers arriving at terminal B and C from the luggage compartment of terminal B. The journey to the city center, which is approximately 7 km away, takes about 15 minutes.
For a more economical journey, you can also use the municipal buses passing through the airport. Buses depart from terminals A, D and E on the arrivals floor of the airport. Among these, buses numbered T5 and D53 go to downtown San Juan, including San Juan's historic city centre.
You can use UBER to reach the city from the airport. More than one area has been allocated for UBER vehicles to load and unload at the airport. You can choose the one closest to you on the app and meet your driver there.
Car rental options at San Juan Airport are also quite diverse. You can rent a car directly before you start your journey, either online or by going to their office after you get off. Car rental offices are mostly on the first floor of the parking building opposite the terminal.
Since San Juan is a very important tourist destination, it is very easy to find an airport transfer online that will meet you and drop you off at your hotel.
