Transportation to Sinop Airport from the City Center
Located 8 kilometers from the city center of Sinop, Sinop Airport has only a domestic terminal. Turkish Airlines offers reciprocal Sinop-Istanbul flights seven days a week at the airport, which was opened to flight traffic in 1993 but was closed in 2001 and reactivated in 2008. Sinop, which has touristic districts such as Boyabat, Ayancık, Gerze and Erfelek, is also the northernmost tip of Turkey. Sinop, where transportation is possible by land and sea besides air, has Sinop Port, which is used effectively by tourist and cruise ships in summer.
It is possible to reach Sinop Airport by taking a taxi from the nearest taxi stand in Sinop city center or by renting a car from the car rental offices located in the center.
Turkish Airlines' passenger service for its own passengers departs in front of the central PTT building at 10.30 am, 7 days a week, and from Gelincik Mahallesi at 10.35 am. It reaches the airport by following the route of Sinop Prison and Sinop Bus Station.
The minibuses, which are another alternative to reach the airport from the city center of Sinop, run in the direction of TOKİ residences, Sinop Prison and Sinop Bus Terminal.
