Transportation from City Center to San Juan Airport
The most economical way of transportation from San Juan city center to San Juan Airport is to use the municipal bus. Bus D53 stops include Isla Verde, San Juan historic downtown, Condado (Ashford Avenue), the convention center. Between the stops of the T5 bus is Isla Verde and the historic city center of San Juan. These two buses will take you to the airport.

The distance between the city center and the airport is 30 km and the journey normally takes 45 minutes. You can pay the taxi driver in cash, either in US dollars or in Dominican pesos, but since the fixed rate is set in US dollars, the taxi driver's own exchange rate may be lower than you expect when you pay in pesos. Also, taxis at the airport only take (maximum) 3 passengers.
