Transportation from Rome Airport to the City Center

Rome, the capital city of Italy is one of the most visited cities in the world. Rome Airport, which formally known as Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, is connecting the city with the rest of the world. Located 26 km. further from the city center, Rome Airport is offering various alternatives for the transportation between the airport and the city center.

For the transportation between Roma Airport and the city center, trains, public busses, taxis, rental cars and shuttle services might be used.

The fastest and most economical way of transportation between the airport and the city center is using trains. The express train line called Leonardo Express is directly transporting its passengers to Roma Termini (Termini Train Station), located at the heart of the city. After a 30 minutes-long train journey, you can reach to the most popular spot of the city. The express trains are operated daily between 06:30 am. and 11:30 pm. every 30 minutes.

The regular train line called FM1 Regional is leading to the city center and several other regions in the city. Providing a convenient journey for passengers who are going to Roma Tiburtina, Fara Sabina, Poggio Mirteto and Orte regions, this train line does lastly stop at Orte Train Station. Alternatively, you can directly reach to other cities in Italy by taking a train at the airport.

For the transportation between the airport and the city center, public busses might also be used. The busses are taking off from the station at Terminal 2 and leading to the city center, following the route of the metro.

It is possible to reach directly to Roma Termini by taking Terravision Shuttle Bus, taking off from Terminal 3. SIT Bus Shuttle is also covering the same route.

Taking a taxi at the exit of arrival terminal is providing a fast journey to the city center. It is advised to negotiate about the route and price prior to taking a taxi. Alternatively, you might rent a car through car rental offices inside the airport or online booking services.
