Transportation from Reykjavik City Center to Keflavík International Airport
Although Keflavík International Airport is approximately 50 km from Reykjavik, it is not difficult to reach the airport thanks to the city's regular infrastructure.
The easiest way to reach Keflavík Airport from Reykjavik city center is to take a taxi. You cannot hail taxis from the street in Iceland, instead you have to go to a taxi stand or call them to your location using the taxi companies' own apps. Icelandic taxis all have a meter and almost all accept credit cards.
Two private bus companies carry passengers from the city center to Keflavík Airport. Flybus, one of them, picks you up from your hotel at certain times throughout the day and takes you to the airport. The other company that provides this service, Airport Direct, also picks you up from your hotel or the nearest bus stop to your hotel.
Both companies reach the airport in approximately 45 minutes. It is recommended to use this service 3-4 hours before your flight so that you can reach the airport in the time period recommended by the authorities.
The most economical way of this journey is to use public transportation. You reach the airport after a 60-75-minute journey by bus number 55. The first flight departs from BSI Bus Terminal on weekdays, while on weekends it is approximately 10 km. It departs from the Fjörður stop at a distance. The departure times vary considerably. Transportation from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport to the City Center
There are several ways to reach Helsinki from Helsinki Airport. Some of these are trains, buses and taxis.
Buses, which are the most convenient way, have stops at both terminals. When your plane lands, don't forget to check the bus times on the screen on the arrivals floor. Buses belonging to Finnair Bus connect the airport to the city center (central train station). Buses departing every 20 minutes cost 6.20€.
There are other buses that go to the city center as an alternative to Finnair Bus. Bus number 615 goes to the central train station. This bus line is replaced by bus number 620 at night.
Bus number 61 takes you from the airport to Tikkurila station.
Another way to reach Helsinki city center is by train. To reach the train station, you can use the corridors that provide transition between the terminals.
Taxis are another option, located at the exit of the arrivals terminal. The journey from the airport to Helsinki by taxi takes about 30 minutes and costs 45-50€.
