Transportation from Reykjavik City Center to Keflavík International Airport

Although Keflavík International Airport is approximately 50 km from Reykjavik, it is not difficult to reach the airport thanks to the city's regular infrastructure.

The easiest way to reach Keflavík Airport from Reykjavik city center is to take a taxi. You cannot hail taxis from the street in Iceland, instead you have to go to a taxi stand or call them to your location using the taxi companies' own apps. Icelandic taxis all have a meter and almost all accept credit cards.

Two private bus companies carry passengers from the city center to Keflavík Airport. Flybus, one of them, picks you up from your hotel at certain times throughout the day and takes you to the airport. The other company that provides this service, Airport Direct, also picks you up from your hotel or the nearest bus stop to your hotel.

Both companies reach the airport in approximately 45 minutes. It is recommended to use this service 3-4 hours before your flight so that you can reach the airport in the time period recommended by the authorities.

The most economical way of this journey is to use public transportation. You reach the airport after a 60-75-minute journey by bus number 55. The first flight departs from BSI Bus Terminal on weekdays, while on weekends it is approximately 10 km. It departs from the Fjörður stop at a distance. The departure times vary considerably. You can check the most up-to-date information on the Straeto website.

Transportation from Budapest International Ferenc Liszt Airport to the City Center

Budapest International Ferenc Liszt Airport is the country's largest international airport serving the capital city of Hungary, Budapest. The airport, formerly Budapest International Ferihegy Airport, still continues to be called by this name from time to time. The airport, located 16 km southeast of the city, was established for military purposes in 1939-1944 during the war. Later, it was rearranged in 1947-1950 to be converted into a civil airport. Today, more than 40 airlines use this airport. Budapest Airport experiences its busiest period in July, August and September.

It is possible to reach the city center from Budapest Airport by bus, minibus, taxi or car rental options.

Undoubtedly, the most economical option is buses. Between 04:00 and 23:00, bus number 200E runs between Terminal 2 and Kőbánya-Kispest metro station. To reach the city center from the airport, you can first take the 200E bus and get off at the Kőbánya-Kispest metro stop, then take the M3 metro that goes in the direction of Újpest Központ. It is possible to buy your tickets from automatic machines or ticket offices. You can take the bus after you get on the bus, but it is a little more expensive.

Another way to reach the city center is to use minibuses. The miniBUD shuttle service with which Budapest Airport is contracted offers a comfortable and fast travel service for those who want to go to the city center from the airport.

You can also prefer taxis to go to your hotel from the airport, which is located 16 km east of the city. You can take your taxi immediately by making a reservation from the booths of Főtaxi company located at the exit gates of Terminal 2A and 2B. In addition to the departure fee and the waiting fee, the taxis generally offer a fixed fee.

If you want to rent a car, it is possible to rent a car at a more affordable price by making a reservation on the official website of Budapest Airport in advance.
