Transportation from Quito City Center to Quito Airport
Although Mariscal Sucre International Airport is approximately 40 km from the city of Quito, it is quite easy to reach by using various vehicles in the city.
One of the most convenient ways to reach the airport is to take the private buses that run between the city center and the airport. These buses depart from the old airport, which is currently used as a park, and arrive at the new airport after about an hour's journey.
Buses depart every half hour on weekdays and every hour on weekends. Free internet service is available on the buses. One suitcase and one hand luggage up to 23 kg are included in the ticket price. You have to pay an additional fee for extra baggage. Tickets are available online or at the bus ticket office.
City buses to the airport depart from the Rio Coca terminal just outside the city centre. Buses operating between 05.45 in the morning and 21.30 in the evening take you to the airport in approximately 1.5 hours depending on the traffic situation.
You will not have any trouble finding a taxi, especially in the touristic center of the city. You can either turn from the street or ask the receptionist of your hotel to call a taxi for you. Taxis apply pre-determined price tariffs from the city center to the airport, and when traveling towards the airport, you pay 3-4 dollars less than the arrival schedule.
Transportation from Manila Ninoy Aquino Airport to City Center
Manila Ninoy Aquino Airport, located 7 kilometers south of the center of Manila, is also quite crowded and complex, just like the city center. Normally, it takes 30 minutes between the city center and the airport, but when the traffic is crowded, this time can even go up to 2 hours.
In the Philippines, minibuses made from old American buses are called 'jeepneys' and these vehicles are widely used in urban transportation. Jeepneys also provide transportation between the airport and Baclatran.
Another means of transportation you can use in Manila is taxis. When you take a taxi from the airport, don't forget to negotiate the price with the driver if you don't want to pay too much in the traffic that has become a lock due to Jeepneys.
