Transportation from Quito City Center to Quito Airport
Although Mariscal Sucre International Airport is approximately 40 km from the city of Quito, it is quite easy to reach by using various vehicles in the city.
One of the most convenient ways to reach the airport is to take the private buses that run between the city center and the airport. These buses depart from the old airport, which is currently used as a park, and arrive at the new airport after about an hour's journey.
Buses depart every half hour on weekdays and every hour on weekends. Free internet service is available on the buses. One suitcase and one hand luggage up to 23 kg are included in the ticket price. You have to pay an additional fee for extra baggage. Tickets are available online or at the bus ticket office.
City buses to the airport depart from the Rio Coca terminal just outside the city centre. Buses operating between 05.45 in the morning and 21.30 in the evening take you to the airport in approximately 1.5 hours depending on the traffic situation.
You will not have any trouble finding a taxi, especially in the touristic center of the city. You can either turn from the street or ask the receptionist of your hotel to call a taxi for you. Taxis apply pre-determined price tariffs from the city center to the airport, and when traveling towards the airport, you pay 3-4 dollars less than the arrival schedule.
Transportation from Athens Airport to the City Center
Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport, the only airport in Athens, is approximately 20 km from the city center. Metro, train, bus, taxi, private car and car rental options are used to reach the city center from the airport.
The bus numbered X95, which departs in front of the arrivals gate of the airport, provides transportation to Syntagma Square, where the Greek National Assembly is located. This journey takes about 1 hour, depending on the traffic density. For those who want to go to different districts and the outer periphery of the city, approximately 10 bus lines serve.
To reach the city center (Syntagma Square) from the airport, it is necessary to use the M3 rail system. This square also serves as a transfer point for the rail system. It is also possible to switch to other districts with the train line between the airport and Piraeus Port.
You can reach the city center by taking the taxis in front of the airport terminal. There is a fixed price application to certain points in the city center. Before getting into the taxi, it is necessary to act by asking the price.
