Transportation from the City Center to Porto Airport
Porto is located in the south of Portugal, on the banks of the Duoro River. Porto, the capital of the province of the same name, is the most important industrial point of the country. The city center, located north of the Duora River, is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Porto's world-famous product, Port wine, is made with grapes from the vineyards lined along the Duoro River. The recipe for this grape variety and wine is protected by law. The only airport serving the city is called Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport or Porto Airport. This international airport is located 11 km northwest of Porto city centre.
There are bus, metro, taxi and car rental options for transportation to Porto Airport, which is 11 km away from the city center.
The most convenient way to reach Porto Airport is to use buses. There are reciprocal flights between the airport and the city center with buses numbered 601, 602, 604 and 3M, which depart every half hour.
Another option for those who prefer public transportation is the metro line. The purple Line E lines serve at intervals of 20-30 minutes between 06:00 in the morning and 01:00 at night. You can reach the airport by metro from Estádio do Dragão station. You can buy your tickets for the metro from automatic machines.
You can use the 24-hour taxis to reach Porto Airport easily from the city center. Note that night and weekend rates are different for taxis.

Transportation from San Jose Airport to San Jose City Center
The only means of transportation from San Jose International Airport, also known as Juan Santamaría Airport, to San Jose city center are buses, taxis and personal/rental car options.
When you leave the airport, you should take the Alajuela – San Jose bus in the direction of San Jose from the bus stop in front of the terminal. The journey is 18 km and takes about 35 minutes. Bus drivers sell tickets for the trip.
Taxi service to any destination in Costa Rica is available 24 hours a day at the airport terminal. Many companies authorized by the airport offer transfer services to both individuals and groups with orange and red vehicles. Also, Uber is an alternative for transportation in San Jose.
If you want to visit San Jose and the surrounding cities and do not want to deal with taxis or transfers every time, renting a car is also a good option. There are offices of world-renowned rent-a-car companies such as Budget Alamo Enterprise in the terminal.
