Phuket International Airport is an international airport located in the island of Phuket and the city of the same name, located in the south of Thailand.
The airport is located in the north of the island, 32 km from the city center of Phuket. Phuket International Airport plays an important role in Thailand's tourism industry, as the famous Phuket Island is a frequent destination for vacationers. After the two airports in the capital, Bangkok, Phuket Airport is Thailand's third busiest airport. Phuket Airport broke a record with 11.3 million inbound and outbound passengers in 2013. The first option that comes to mind, buses, unfortunately do not run very often between the airport and Phuket city center. Bus services are planned to be expanded in the near future.
You can rent a car with a fixed fee from car rental companies that offer private limousine, private minibus and group minibus options.
You can also use taxis to reach the airport from Phuket city center. It takes about 30 minutes to go to the airport by taxi.

Transportation from Sultan Ismail Airport to the City Center
Sultan Ismail Airport, which has been used for civil flights since 1949, connects the city of Kota Bharu, located in the east of Malaysia, with the outside world. Sultan Ismail Airport, which is used by approximately 2 million passengers every year, is located 10 km east of the city center. The airport, which has an international status, offers many domestic and international flights. There are regular round-trip flights every day to major cities such as Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Kuching and Ipoh. The international flight list, on the other hand, is easily accessible from the airport, which consists of the cities of Guangzhou, Seoul, Vietnam and Jakarta, to the city center with different alternatives.
Bus
Those who want to use the bus option to go from the airport to Kota Bharu city center should first walk to the bus stop located outside the airport and get on the bus with line number 9 from this stop. Operated by the local municipality, these buses operate every hour between 07:00 and 19:00 every day of the week and take approximately 30 minutes to travel. A one-way trip to Kota Bharu city center costs about 2RM.
Taxi
Since public transportation vehicles cannot be used at night, taxis are the most frequently used alternative to reach the city center. It is possible to reach the city center within 15 minutes with the taxis waiting to pick up passengers at the taxi stand located at the exit of the arrival terminal gate. In these taxis, which work with a fixed fee, the fee to be paid for transportation to the city center is 30-40 RM.

There is no official rent a car agency in the airport terminal building. For this reason, those who want to rent a car for transportation to the city center should make a reservation online or by phone from other agencies in the vicinity before the trip.
