Bahrain International Airport is the flight hub of Gulf Air, the national airline company of Bahrain. Established in 1950 with the partnership of Bahrain, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Oman and Qatar, Gulf Air had flights based in these countries at the time of its establishment.

Gulf Air Check-In Procedures and Seat Selection
Gulf Air passengers start to benefit from the online check-in service 24 hours before their flight, and the online check-in process continues until 90 minutes before the flight. Passengers who will only travel with hand luggage must be ready at the gate where the flight will take place until the last 30 minutes after checking in online and receiving their boarding pass.
Passengers who will carry out baggage delivery and check-in by applying to the counter must apply to the counter at the latest 1 hour before the flight time for flights between Gulf countries, and at the latest 2 hours before the flight time for international flights.
Gulf Air charges for seat selection. If the passengers who do online check-in do not want to pay for the seat selection, they have to travel in the seat automatically assigned by the system. Passengers who want to determine their own seat during the journey pay a fee according to the tariff arranged according to the departure and arrival point of the plane. Passengers traveling from destinations between Gulf and Middle East countries to Abu Dhabi, Amman, Bahrain, Beirut, Dubai, Jeddah, Alexandria, Cairo, Kuwait, Sharm El Sheikh, Medina and Muscat are 5000 Bahraini Dinars for seat selection; 10 thousand Bahraini Dinars for passengers traveling to Dhaka, Delhi, Islamabad, Colombo, Karachi, Multan and Mumbai from the destinations in the 2nd group, Athens, Baku, Bangkok, Istanbul, 20,000 Bahraini Dinars must be paid for Frankfurt, Casablanca, London, Manila, Tbilisi, Paris, Moscow and Larnaca.
Passengers who are members of Gulf Air's Falconflyer program earn miles on every flight. It's free to become a member of the Falconflyer program. Passengers who are included in the system, which can become a member by filling out the membership form on Gulf Air's website, must enter their membership numbers into the system before the flight, at the counter or during web check-in, in order to earn miles. The miles earned vary according to criteria such as flight distance and ticket class. With the miles earned and accumulated in the system, extra baggage allowance, priority check-in, flight class upgrade, free lounge use, free flight tickets and the opportunity to earn and spend miles on purchases made from contracted institutions and organizations are offered.
Gulf Air Baggage Allowance and Pricing
Economy class passengers are entitled to one hand luggage, one personal item and up to 30 kg of free baggage on Gulf Air flights. Falcon Gold members are entitled to one hand luggage, one personal item and up to 40 kg of free luggage. Those who have baggage above these limits must purchase baggage allowance by paying an extra fee of 10 dollars to 40 dollars per piece, depending on the travel origin and destination.
Gulf Air Food, Beverage and Catering
The food, beverage and catering menu at Gulf Air varies according to the flight distance and the time period of the flight. Snacks, hot and cold meals, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are served free of charge on flights exceeding 2.5 hours. While snacks and beverages are served free of charge on flights less than 2.5 hours, those who request food must pay a fee.
