Transportation from Gold Coast Airport to City Center
Gold Coast is a coastal city located in the sunny state of Queensland, Australia. The famous Surfers Paradise area in the center of Gold Coast has been attracting surfers and tourists for many years and is home to wonderful ocean views with the concept of skyscrapers meeting the beach.
The main airport of the city, Gold Coast Airport, also known as Coolangatta Airport, is located right on the border between the State of New South Wales and the State of Queensland. So you get on the plane from a different state and take off from another state.
Gold Coast Airport is 30 minutes away from the city center, namely Surfers Paradise, and is connected to the city by two buses. The double-decker express bus number 777 goes to Broadbeach South, one of the popular centers of Gold Coast, via the Gold Coast Highway.
It is possible to transfer to other buses going to Surfers Paradise from here. The bus, which has a very frequent number of trips, stops only at the main centers on the way. Commuter line 760 runs every half hour via Coolangatta to another popular hub, Tween Heads. Buses departing from the hub just outside the arrivals terminal accept payment by debit card.
Alternatively, you can use the buses and trams unlimitedly by purchasing the Gold Coast Go Explore daily pass from the Gold Coast Tourist Information desk at the arrivals terminal.
Gold Coast SkyBus, which provides a more direct service from the airport to the Gold Coast city centre, also stops at major hotels in the area. You can use this bus by purchasing tickets from the exchange office in the international arrivals terminal or from the domestic luggage pickup point.
It is not possible to make a reservation in advance for the bus, which runs every half hour between 03.00 in the morning and 19.00 in the evening every day of the week. Skybus departs from the south side of the airport and goes to Tweed Heads and Biggera Waters.
You can easily get to the city center from Gold Coast Airport with 13cabs or Black and White Cabs taxis from the taxi stands located outside the domestic arrivals terminal. You can check the websites of the companies for fees and details.
Those who prefer to call a vehicle from phone applications such as Uber, Ola or Didi should wait at the passenger pick-up point located north of the departure terminal.
