Transportation from Bridgetown City Center to Bridgetown Airport
Grantley Adams International Airport is located very close to Bridgetown city center. The passenger density at the airport, which hosts both national and international flights throughout the year, reaches its peak between November and March.
The easiest and fastest way to get to the airport from Bridgetown city center is to take a taxi. Since there are many pirate taxis in the city, it is recommended to make sure that it is an official taxi before taking a taxi. Since taxis do not have a meter, you have to tell them where you are going before you start the journey and agree on the fare. If you do not want to experience all this, you can make a safer journey by downloading the Uber-style Pick Up Barbados application that is in use on the island. It takes an average of 25 minutes to cover this distance of approximately 15 km.
The most economical way to make the same journey is to take the public buses operating in the city. This service, which is many times cheaper than the price you will pay for a taxi, is equally difficult. It takes an average of one hour to travel this distance of 15 km by buses, which are very crowded, especially during the hours of going to work or returning home. You can pay for the ticket on the bus, but you can only use Barbadian Dollars.
Because Bridgetown is a very touristic destination, you can easily book a professional airport transfer from the tourist agencies spread throughout the city, at your hotel reception or online.
Transportation from San Jose Airport to San Jose City Center
The only means of transportation from San Jose International Airport, also known as Juan Santamaría Airport, to San Jose city center are buses, taxis and personal/rental car options.
When you leave the airport, you should take the Alajuela – San Jose bus in the direction of San Jose from the bus stop in front of the terminal. The journey is 18 km and takes about 35 minutes. Bus drivers sell tickets for the trip.
Taxi service to any destination in Costa Rica is available 24 hours a day at the airport terminal. Many companies authorized by the airport offer transfer services to both individuals and groups with orange and red vehicles. Also, Uber is an alternative for transportation in San Jose.
