American Airlines' web check-in starts 24 hours before the scheduled flight departure time. The check-in process ends 45 minutes before the flight for domestic flights, and 90 minutes before the flight departure time for international flights. If online check-in passengers have luggage to deliver, they must be at the airport 90 minutes for domestic flights and 2 hours before the flight time for all international flights and deliver their luggage. American Airlines Baggage Allowance and Pricing
All passengers are allowed to carry one cabin baggage (8 kg maximum) and one personal item on American Airlines. In economy class, only 1 personal item is free. Passengers traveling in Basic economy class in Europe and long distances are charged 60 dollars as baggage fee, while business, first class and premium economy passengers are free of charge. A fee of 40-150 dollars is charged for the second and third baggage, depending on the distance and flight destination. Extra baggage allowance is more economical when purchased online. A higher fee is charged for applications made at the counter and for excess baggage detected during boarding.
