Transportation from Kolkata Airport to City Center
Kolkota Airport or Dum Dum Airport, officially known as Kolkota Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport), is the airport that is the center of all civil air traffic in East India. The Kolkota Airport, which serves a very crowded population, can be reached by using various transportation routes to the city center and the surrounding provinces.
The easiest of these means of transportation is the airport buses that depart frequently from the airport. Air-conditioned buses from West Bengal Surface Transport Corporation (WBSTC) run frequently between the airport and Kolkata. These buses leave for central places in the city such as Howrah, Esplanade, Garia, Santragachi and Tollygunge.
There are buses that depart with a frequency of 10, 20 or 30 minutes depending on your destination. The flights start at 08:00 in the morning and continue until 21:30 in the evening. When you come to India, it is not possible to experience a train. Kolkata Airport is connected to the Kolkata Suburban Railway system and is the first airport in India to join such a train network. The four-kilometer-long elevated track connects the airport station Biman Bandar to the Dum Dum Cantonment train station, passing through Jessore Road stop.

If you want to have a more comfortable journey, your best option is to use transportation applications such as taxi or Uber. The taxis here are prepaid, so you pay by telling your destination from the box office in the terminal building before you get in the taxi, and you get on the next taxi with the invoice given to you. Thus, the chance of your taxi driver to drop you in the wrong place is greatly reduced. You can do this from the taxi toll booths between gates 3 and 4 on the arrival floor. You can use this service 24 hours a day.
On the ground floor of the airport arrivals terminal, there are drop-off points specially arranged for transportation applications such as Ola and Uber. You can meet at these points with the vehicles you call from your mobile phone and go anywhere you want easily. In this way, you will have paid your transportation cost online and you will not have to worry about finding cash in a country you have just arrived from.
